Description

This is a piece that celebrates December and the birthstone for December is Turquoise so her hair has been painted in honor of that. I hope to do one of these for each month of the year.

I used watercolor paints and paper as well as an inking pen to complete this.

This is a smart idea of what December represents: saying goodbye and welcoming.
For the same reason this light warm romantic alizarin red is as comfortable as that false-vanishing natural sepia.

Between them is flowing and glooming a river of lively intense turquoise phthalo blue, feminine color for hair that could by cold and distant. But in this painting the look is even far away, reaching touching the other invisible bank, vanishing in the undefined white background.

There we are, in presence of a female body, in contact with her back where belongs December, the sum of the year, the past, all the accomplished work, the foundations. Meanwhile the look of the character is absent, mind is already expecting, calculating, promising to herself about future success. All of this in silence, alone, independently of surroundings. The body position feels secure, sturdy, settled with mindset.
